TED MAKES IT A STAG PARTY
|

| BRITISH COLLEGIATE LEAGUE QUARTER FINALS SOUTHAMPTON 19 BIRMINGHAM 12 BAYNHAM'S AIRSHOW KNOCKS OUT CHAMPIONS STAGS quarterback Ted Baynham threw for 347 yards and touchdown and ran another one in as Southampton put on an offensive masterclass to knock the defending champions out of the playoffs. Southampton also got revenge when it counted after losing 57-42 to the Lions in the regular thriller between the two sides.
An almost flawless game from Baynham sparked the STAGS as he completed 24 of 47 attempts. Running back Tam Amachree also got in on the act as he ran for 127 yards and a touchdown.
The Lions scored first when Neale Canning threw a touchdown pass for a well-worked TD. However, the STAGS soon replied with Baynham's TD strike to WR Dom Olney who would finish the game with eight catches for 123 yards. As the half drew to a close, Baynham added the STAGS' second score as he ran in from four yards to put Southampton in to a 13-6 halftime lead.
Southampton increased their lead through Amachree after good work from receiver Tom Fordham. However, Birmingham were not about to lie down and later in the third they answered thank to excellent play-calling.
The fourth quarter had everyone on the edge of their seats as Southampton managed to hold the Birmingham at a goal-line stand. The game ended with Baynham taking a knee and running out the clock.
