Whilst the STAGS are delighted to be ranked in the top five, the gap between the STAGS and the top two teams in the South is still too large. In 2005, the STAGS made a commitment to improve the performance of the team on and off the field.
The STAGS are aware that without investment in the seven Critical Success Factors the growth of the team will be thwarted and the gap between top and bottom may increase.
The seven Critical Success Factors were identified as: - COMMITTEE / OFF-FIELD ORGANISATION: Re-organise & Strengthen the committee, to develop a ‘best practice’ manual. - VISABILITY OF TEAM WITHIN UNIVERSITY: Increased visibility, greater participation in university activities & Social Scene. - PR & MARKETING: The design and launch of a Football Awareness Campaign. - COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT: Community and charity work, building a junior flag and youth kitted program. - EQUIPMENT RENEWAL & INVESTMENT: The purchasing of new training equipment and 20 new sets of kit in 2005/06. - RECRUITMENT, RETENTION & PLAYER DEVELOPMENT: Recruitment, Retention, Player Development, Access to Further qualifications. - CHEERLEADERS: To develop a greater working relationship with the Vixens (Cheerleaders)
